From FlexNet: October 20th Friday Okay folks, enough is enough. I am stopping putting up anymore FlexNet fan mail, pro or con. The volume is getting too heavy, and I am getting behind in my work. Responses from these past few days are indicative of the current stream of fan mail. I really do appreciate all comments, good or bad. But enuff is enuff. del wong FlexNet ------------------------------------- Date: Thu, 19 Oct 2000 21:07:44 -0400 From: phs3 To: [email protected] Subject: Your web site.... certainly doesn't entice me to do business with you. Do you think this is some sort of new and innovative marketing technique? You sound like a bunch of imbeciles. Who in the heck would do business with a site that can't even compose a coherent sentence? You may think the tone of your writing is *cute*, but it is not....it is just juvenile and unprofessional. Take a hike and stop wasting bandwidth on the internet. ------------------------------------- Date: Thu, 19 Oct 2000 19:08:41 EDT From: [email protected] To: [email protected] Subject: i dont like ur aol comments sorry sir but i find AOL easy to use, i didnt know that since AOL is a helluva lot easier to use than freakin IE im considered computer illteritate, just quit bashing AOL, not all of us are sado-masochists. ------------------------------------- Date: Thu, 19 Oct 2000 18:24:48 EDT From: [email protected] To: [email protected] Subject: Comment "As a general rule, America Online users are not computer savvy or it seems, capable of the level of technical sophistication necessary to operate a computer outside of an AOL environment. Making allegations and insulting other people? ------------------------------------- Date: Thu, 19 Oct 2000 16:47:09 -0400 From: David Howell To: [email protected] Subject: you dont say....... Are you guys for real? You come off as a gang of arrogant juvenile computer hacks with delusions of omniscience and granduer.....thats ok....those types permeate the technical world.....and as far as AOL is concerned, you should remember that they were out there even before there was an internet....when they were Q-Link...so they obviously have more experience at this stuff than you do.....and they DEFINATELY have better advertising ------------------------------------- Date: Thu, 19 Oct 2000 12:42:57 -0500 To: [email protected] Subject: Humm Well I just got a look at your site. I can't really believe that you have been in business for six years. The things that I read on your site really make me sick. If you were in the real world you wouldn't be in business. How many other ISP's are there in Hawaii? I guess there aren't to many to pick from. I know my way around a computer and I know the Internet. But there is no way that I would ever consider joining your little cult. I bet you operate out of your basement. I guess you get what you pay for. I must admit, when I first visited your website I thought it must be a "spoof", if your in this business to make money these days, you need to baby-sit customers. I work for the second largest ISP in the world and we did not get there by running people away. Hard work and dedication to customers that ask questions keep them coming back, and as a matter of fact they tell their friends who in turn tell their friends and so on. I'm confident that customers don't mind paying the few extra dollars to have the luxury of "good" technical support 24/7. Not everybody was born an internet "geek" and knows as much as the guru's you refer to on your page, but the one thing for sure is that many of those not so internet savvy people can afford to buy and sell little ISP's with chump change. I personally like your website, it makes it easier for us to take your customers! Keep up the good work! Positive, uplifting and filled with aloha. This sort of attitude is why Hawaii has been in an economic slump for the last 10 years.... I'm sure the rest of the world is laughing... ------------------------------------- Date: Mon, 16 Oct 2000 18:12:12 -0500 To: [email protected] Subject: Comment about your site Hey Dickheads, For all that posturing, you do not offer the cheapest service. EV1 has the same price, offers more space, more e-mails, AND has tech support. So go fuck yourselves in your own ass. I guess you don't have time to research your competition, but wait, isn't that you should be doing, since you don't offer tech support? Maybe we shouldn't bother with you, since you obviously went to the AOL school of business --- claiming to be the best when you suck. You have no right to claim competitiveness in the market place, when you aren't. Some one else out there is still better. Maybe you should ask for a refund from Miss Manners! ------------------------------------- Date: Mon, 16 Oct 2000 16:14:46 EDT From: [email protected] To: [email protected] Subject: Really You guys are dumb bro ------------------------------------- Date: Mon, 16 Oct 2000 14:17:22 -0400 To: [email protected] Subject: LMAO - You guys are funny! I must commend you on your service, what a better way not to get customers. I work in the tech support office for an east coast ISP. I got a good laugh out of your webpage and even from the AOL slams and the letter from the unhappy customer. But I got one question - Do you really want to make money? Maybe things are different in the islands, but money's still the same color - even if you hire 1 or 2 tech support people through an agency you'll make more money in the long run. Not everybody that's net savvy (as you said) can fix things on their own - they still get brainlock on accasion. Just a suggestion. Anyone that is computer savvy will understand support is very important. Good luck! ------------------------------------- Date: Sun, 15 Oct 2000 21:47:44 -0400 To: [email protected] Subject: Wow Wow, it's obvious that you are computer people and not business graduates. I think you managed to alienate about 80% of your potential customer base. I'll keep an eye on your website, I don't think it will be there too much longer. Marc
