From Phil Vischer, president at Jellyfish Labs LLC At the San Francisco World's Fair of 1939, a pavilion was built with the strange title "Sermons from Science." Inside the popular attraction, young pastor and science aficionado Irwin Moon put on dramatic scientific demonstrations and used those demonstrations to support his belief in the Bible. Rather than disproving the Bible, Dr. Moon believed, science could be used to illuminate the wonders of God's creation.
In 1945, the Moody Bible Institute partnered with Moon to form the Moody
Institute of Science - a small venture dedicated to the production of
scientific films that supported Moon's biblical worldview. For the next 40
years the team at the Moody Institute of Science produced film after film
and shared those films
Why am I telling you this? Because today we have a new generation of kids being raised by Nickelodeon, Disney and the Discovery Channel who have no idea these films even exist. Kids who know all about recycling and global warming, but who have had no exposure to science as a tool to actually support the Bible. So I am partnering with Moody to bring some of these classic films back to life. We've launched a new website, JellyTelly.com, which will serve as a sort of online "mini-Nickelodeon" for Christian kids, and we're working with ministries like Focus on the Family and Moody to bring the best Christian kids programming together in one place.
